The Melbourne Citymission staff team of over 750 staff come from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds and create a richly diverse, dedicated and values-driven team.
Our staff place the greatest importance on Melbourne Citymission’s value of providing a service focused on providing long-term, sustainable results for clients. They derive immense job satisfaction from working alongside clients to make our community a cohesive, more liveable place to be. They are also challenged daily by the professional development and learning that comes from working at Melbourne CItymission.

Our front line staff deliver a range of services to people who are marginalised or at-risk across Melbourne and Victoria. These staff bring their skills, knowledge and expertise in:
- social work
- youth work
- community development
- case management
- disability support
- nursing
- allied health
- residential care
- counselling
- employment and training
- pastoral care.
Our staff are empowered to use their skills, experience and passion to create change for those who are isolated and disadvantaged in the community. According to our staff, Melbourne Citymission is “one of those organisations where your ideas are listened to and supported”.

Our service delivery teams are complimented by a research and social policy team committed to gathering an evidence base to inform practice and enable Melbourne Citymission to advocate for structural and systems change in social and public policy.

Our Volunteer team
The Melbourne Citymission team also comprises a dedicated team of volunteers who generously give their time and share their knowledge and experience with clients in a range of volunteering programs.
Melbourne Citymission
For 155 years, Melbourne Citymission has worked with disadvantaged people across Melbourne and Victoria. Every week we help thousands of people build a clear pathway out of disadvantage, economic exclusion and social isolation.
Our services support:
- people to find a pathway out of homelessness
- disabled people to get the resources and support they need to live the life they want
- people to break the cycle of poverty and abuse
- people to find jobs, or enter into education and training.
