Andrew Moore, General Manager, Finance
Andrew commenced with Melbourne Citymission in June 2009 bringing over 30 years financial management experience to the organisation. Andrew previously held leadership and senior client service roles at Ernst and Young where he gained knowledge and experience working with a broad client base across the not-for-profit, corporate and public sectors.
Andrew completed a Bachelor of Economics at Monash University and is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Andrew’s philosophy of team work and best practice is consistent with the values of Melbourne Citymission and is committed to ‘making a difference’ and help move Melbourne Citymission forward as a strong sustainable organisation into the future.

Ken Patterson, General Manager, Aged and Palliative Care
With thirty years experience in the human services sector, Ken brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to the Melbourne Citymission team. This experience has been acquired in a variety of settings encompassing both the not for profit and Victorian public service. He has been a member of Melbourne Citymission’s Executive Leadership Team since 2004. Ken has responsibility for Melbourne Citymission’s services for seniors in retirement living, aged care and community aged programs, as well as community-based palliative care services.
Ken holds formal tertiary qualifications in social work and human services research as well as marketing and accounting.
A commitment to the disadvantaged has been a passion for Ken for many years. Melbourne Citymission’s philosophies of ‘Building Inclusive Communities’ and of a ‘hand-up, not a hand-out’ align with Ken’s personal values. Ken is a firm believer in the vital role that community service organisations (CSOs) play and the partnerships that are needed between government, CSOs, local communities and the corporate and philanthropic sectors if Australian society is to overcome the disadvantage in our midst.

Sharon Fisher, General Manager, Community Development
Sharon Fisher is the Acting General Manager, Community Development having undertaken a range of service development and policy roles in the area of Employment, Education and Training within Melbourne Citymission since 2000. Sharon has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences and a Graduate Diploma in Community Development and draws from over twenty years experience in the education, youth housing and local government sectors.

Sherri Bruinhout, General Manager, Homelessness Services
Sherri brings over fifteen years experience to the homelessness portfolio. She has worked in government and non-government settings, contributing to the youth homelessness, affordable housing and community inclusion sectors. Sherri has responsibility for Melbourne Citymission’s crisis accommodation, homelessness support services, justice programs and youth/family connections programs.
Prior to this role Sherri was managing Melbourne Citymission’s Frontyard Youth Services, leading a diverse team in presenting ‘joined-up’ solutions to young people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage. Sherri holds a BA (Youth Affairs, RMIT) and post graduate studies in Education (RMIT).
Melbourne Citymission’s 155 year proud history of working in partnership with people experiencing disadvantage is evident in Sherri’s passion to find pathways for government, community and individuals to work together to address disadvantage and exclusion. She believes that homelessness is an issue that is both preventable and solvable.

Jen Deurwaarder, General Manager, Children and Disability Services
Jen has worked in the human services area for the past thirty years both in the not for profit and government sector. Jen has been a member of Melbourne Citymission’s Executive Leadership team since 2001 and leads the Children’s and Disability Services portfolio. Her portfolio also includes a number of placed based services, where Melbourne Citymission in partnership with other stakeholders, have developed local responses for communities experiencing disadvantage.
Jen has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Latrobe University), Diploma of Education (Latrobe University), a Bachelor of Education (Latrobe University) and a graduate Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies (RMIT).
Jen was first attracted to Melbourne Citymission’s because of the organisation’s demonstrated commitment to inclusion and affirmation of diversity and difference. Jen now leads a team of passionate professionals who have been responsible for developing and implementing innovative models of practice that seek to promote community integration and inclusion for people of all abilities.

Ian Tatterson, (FCPA) General Manager, Corporate Projects
Ian is a qualified CPA and his background includes 25 years experience as a General Manager, Corporate Services at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Victoria Legal Aid and Melbourne Citymission. Since joining the Executive Leadership team in 1998 as leader of the Finance, Information Technology and Administration functions Ian has seen Melbourne Citymission double in size and played a pivotal role in building the resources and capacity to grow the organisation’s work in the community.
As General Manager, Corporate Projects, Ian is leading a number of strategic infrastructure projects that will sustain Melbourne Citymission’s work into the future. This including the major redevelopment of Melbourne CItymission’s former Harold McCracken Nursing into the Youth Precinct, the first precinct of its kind in Australia, offering young people the tools and support they need to break out of the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
Ian believes in supporting the community to support others. This is in line with the Melbourne Citymission philosophy of a hand up.
