How to apply

How do I apply?
  1. You will need to contact our CVS co-ordinator.
  2. We will send you an application form and information kit.
  3. We will schedule a time for you to come in and talk about your interest in becoming a volunteer.
  4. You will need to pass a National Criminal History Record Check.
  5. You will need to supply a Statutory Declaration (if the person has been a citizen or a permanent resident of a country other than Australia) stating that they have never been convicted of an offence, since turning the age of sixteen).
How will I be matched to a resident?
  • Through our contacts with Aged Care Homes, a resident who needs a friend will be referred to us. Staff at Aged Care Homes refer residents who would benefit from having a friend.
  • We then carefully match the resident and the volunteer, taking into account such factors as interests, background, and location.
  • We will then organise a time at the aged care home for you to meet the resident.A suitable time will be arranged for the resident and the volunteer to meet at the aged care home (The co-ordinator will also attend).
  • The volunteer will be given an orientation to the Aged Care Home, as well as meeting the key contact staff usually the Lifestyle Co-ordinator.
