Your will can change lives and bring hope
We rely on the generosity of people just like you. Every gift counts - whether it’s through donations or taking part in our events. But it’s a little known fact that much of our most vital income actually comes from people including gifts in wills.
That’s why we are taking an active part in Include a Charity Week from 12th–18th September, helping to raise awareness of the importance of gifts included in wills.
Every day, Melbourne Citymission works with some of Melbourne and Victoria’s most vulnerable individuals, families and communities. Every week, we help thousands of people to overcome disadvantage, economic exclusion and social isolation.
Our staff are dedicated professionals and the programs we deliver make a powerful and sustainable difference to people’s lives. From children living with a disability, or young people who have nowhere to call home, to people who need assistance into education or employment, we’ll be there, working alongside them so they can build a better future for themselves and be part of society.
But we couldn’t achieve this vital work without the support of our donors and notably our donors who choose to leave a very special gift in their will. This kind of support is particularly important as your act of generosity today will secure our work well into the future.
You don’t have to be wealthy to leave a gift in your will. After taking care of family and friends, you’ll be amazed at what one final gift, no matter how big or small, can do. Whatever the amount, we’re extremely grateful for any gift that’s been included in a will for us, as it helps us to continue to provide help and support to members of the Melbourne community.
You could make a difference and ensure that your last wishes are something to remember.
So this week please keep it in your mind, discuss the subject with your family and friends and then maybe, when the time comes, you’ll consider including us in your will and help our work live on.
