Melbourne Citymission opens new employment services office in Laverton

Melbourne Citymission is very excited to announce the opening of a new Job Services Australia (JSA) office at the Laverton Community Centre. The new centre was opened on 3 February this year and will provide advice to eligible residents on employment, education and training matters.

The new centre, the only Youth Specialist Employment Service in the western suburbs, specialises in resumes and letters of application writing, career planning, advice on training and education options, as well as help to find a job.

Melbourne Citymission’s new JSA office is part of the national employment service funded by the Commonwealth Department of Employment, Education and Workplace Relations, DEEWR. JSA provides employment services for people who are receiving New Start or Youth Allowance from Centrelink.

Up until now residents wanting access to a JSA provider have been limited to using offices in Newport or Werribee. The new Laverton office will be much more convenient for many residents and the office will be open for appointments every Wednesday.
