Summit sponsor vehicle worth $65,000

Summit Fleet Leasing and Management have generously sponsored a brand new Toyota Commuter Bus converted to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities, including the installation of a wheel chair hoist. People supported by one of Melbourne Citymission’s Disability Residential Services will gain more freedom and have greater access to the local community from today thanks to Summit. The generous sponsorship from the Preston office of, Summit Fleet Leasing and Management worth almost $65,000 includes full use of the vehicle for 3 years along with maintenance and servicing. “This is a fantastic outcome for this group of people who will now be able to plan trips, get out and about and become more actively involved in pursuits of their choice within their local community”, said Jen Deurwaarder, General Manager, Children’s and Disability Services. For, Des, Phillip, Terry, Tony, Marcel, Dorothy, Barbara and Doreen, the use of the vehicle will mean that they can travel in their community in comfort in a purpose built vehicle. Most are reliant on the use of aids such as wheelchairs and walking frames and to date, have been reliant on taxis, which can be a very expensive luxury or public transport which can be unreliable and difficult to navigate, “We are very grateful to Summit Fleet Leasing and Management for their generosity, said Jen Deurwaarder, “We are excited for the people that we support, at the ongoing benefits they will gain from their new found freedom.” |
