Youth Voice
Youth Voice is a research project where young people talk to their peers about issues that matter to them. The aim of the project is to inform government policy and planning.
We have finished our reserach project and also an on-line survey wher young people gave their opinion about how they are being heard. Download YOUTH VOICE Survey 2009 to find out what 100 young people thought.
Where to next?
Youth Voice is looking at how the program can work in different settings, and work with govenment to assit young people to have a say in policy and planning as well gaining employment and skills. Watch this space.
What is the aim of the youth voice?
The aim of the Youth Voice enterprise project is:
- to engage young people like you
- for you to speak to your peers to let us know about the kind of stuff (support and assistance) you need in the move from school to further education, training and employment
- an enterprise would gather information from young people on issues such as housing, health and employment, so people like politicians and decision makers so that changes could be made which reflect your needs.
Over the last 12 months around Braybrook/Maidstone, Frankston and Shepparton 15 young people, Youth Consultants, spoke with 300 other young people to find out what young people do at the end of school and just after leaving school.
