Supporting Women Exiting Prison
If you have been in prison or are just about to be released, we can support you to build your confidence, self-esteem and become active in your community.
How can the program assist me?
We can assist you to feel more connected to and active in your community through:
- the Women About social and recreational program, which facilitates group and individual activities
- a short-term (3 month) case management support program, which can assists you to resettle back into the community and refer you to specialist services
- personal development workshops.

Justice Programs
We offer an integrated suite of justice programs to that provide support to women whilst they are in prison, and before and after they have been released.
We are the largest provider of women’s prison services in Victoria. We are a leader and innovator in service provision. We also play an important role in shaping service development and policy direction.
Melbourne Citymission’s Justice Services is made up of four programs that support women:
- to make a successful transition when they leave prison
- in prison in their role as mothers
- to assist women to build their confidence and self esteem
- to find and keep employment, once they have been released from prison.
