Helping Children with Autism
The Melbourne Citymission Helping Children with Autism programs support children who have been diagnosed with autism. We work in partnership with families to support children in their day to day life, which can include home, kinder, school, child care or other community locations. Our suite of Autism support programs include the Circles of Support program, the Affirming Families Program and the Early intervention Program.
Is this program for me?
We can work with you if:
- your child is aged up to 6 years
- your child has been diagnosed with autism
- you live in Melbourne’s north or west.
How can the program assist me?
We work in partnership with you to support your child in their day-to-day life, in places such as:
- the home
- kindergarten
- school
- childcare
- other community locations.
We will talk with you about your needs and identify the best program to meet your needs. Our programs include:
- Early Childhood Intervention Program, which includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy and educational programs
- Circles of Support Program
- Affirming Families Program.

Family and Community Links, based in Brunswick, is a hub for children, young people and their families with a specific emphasis on inclusion for people of all abilities. Integrated services focus on early childhood development, to provide additional support to families in a safe, inclusive learning environment.
