T.I.M.E. Out Sibling Program
Melbourne Citymission acknowledges that having a child with a disability may have an impact on family life. Our Time Out – Sibling Support program provides children and adolescents who have a sibling with a disability with opportunities for support and socialisation.
Two primary school aged groups operate on a fortnightly basis, with a teenage therapeutic group delivered over eight weeks during school terms. All groups combine for occasional holiday program outings.
Is this program for me?
We can work with you if:
- you have a child or adolescent that has a sibling with a disability
- you are living in Melbourne’s north and west.
How can the program assist me?
The T.I.M.E. Out Sibling program can provide your child with a chance to:
- meet others their own age who also have siblings with a disability
- make lasting friendships
- talk about their home life
- learn that they are not the only ones with a brother or sister with a disability.
This program can help your child to:
- improve their self-esteem
