Youth Enterprise Hub
The Youth Enterprise Hub (YEH) works with young people aged 12-25 who are unemployed, disengaged from school or at-risk.
Through a partnership approach with a number of in-house and visiting services YEH provides individual support, group training and a drop-in space to assist young people to find a job, get into school and/or to build work readiness skills. Current projects include a youth diversion program and problem gambling prevention initiative.

Is this program for me?
We can work with you if:
- you are from 12 to 25 years of age
- you want support with employment, education and/or training
- you live, study or hang out in Braybrook or Maidstone.
What's happening at YEH?
YEH has an open-access ethos. This means you can drop in at any time during office hours and get the support you need. You can use the computers, phone and fax for job seeking and educational purposes.
1) Risky Business
Risky Business is a problem gambling prevention program that takes a holistic approach to encourage positive behaviour. The Melbourne Citymission team works with young people to talk about some of life’s challenges, introduce participants to a range of alternative activities, and share information about the risks of behaviours like problem gambling or other risk taking behaviours.
Examples of some activities participants get involved in include creative arts and recreation programs and day trip and school holiday programs.
Our Preventative Gambling Project is run in partnership with key stakeholders; Isis Primary Care, Gamblers Help, Health West Partnership and Rec West.
2) Diversion Diversity – Connecting with Young People
The Diversion Diversity project is a program designed to engage young people ‘at risk’ of coming in contact with the justice system. It uses recreational activities, life skills/leadership courses and information workshops to strengthen connections within the community, improve access to services, as well as provide support with employment and education options.
Who can access this service?
The Diversion Diversity project is aimed at young males between the ages of 15 and 20 years old with a Horn of Africa background. However, all people referred will be taken into consideration by the project worker. The Diversion Diversity project can be accessed via self referral or through referrals from court, police, youth justice workers and community agencies.
3) Print Side Up
Print Side Up is a social enterprise that provides a quality screen-print and design service and at the same time offers employment and training opportunities to some of Melbourne’s most disadvantaged young people. Click here to find out about Print Side Up.
