Department of Human Services Centrelink

The Australian Government Department of Human Services delivers a range of Centrelink payments and services for retirees, the unemployed, families, carers, parents, people with disabilities, Indigenous Australians, and people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and provides services at times of major change.

The Australian Government Department of Human Services visiting service at 19 King Street is staffed by Centrelink Community Engagement Officers. Centrelink Community Engagement Officers provide specialist services to customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Young people can access information about:

  • Claiming for Centrelink payments & benefits
  • Update and make changes to their payments
  • Seeking referrals to Australian Government Department of Human Services Social Workers, Job Services Australia, Job Capacity Assessments and Employment Services Assessments.
Who is this for?

These Centrelink services are for young people aged 16 - 24 years of old who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
