Who does the program support?

This program supports families and adults aged over 18 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the western region of Melbourne and/or have links to this region.

How does the program work?

The aim of the AFHS is to ensure that clients are supported to achieve stable, secure and appropriate housing.

AFHS has two main areas, which include:

  • Interim Response Service
  • Ongoing Support Service.

Interim Response Service

The aim of Interim Response is to provide clients with information and support about their current housing options that may include:

  • private rental
  • Office of Housing, shared accommodation
  • community housing

  • other private accommodation.

Transitional Support Service

The Transitional Support Service provides short- to medium-term case management support to address the client’s housing and support needs.
