A message from our CEO Rev Ric Holland
What a difference a day makes
September culminated with the Annual General Meeting, celebrating the difference that Melbourne Citymission has made in so many people’s lives during the past year. The event took place at ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) in the heart of Melbourne and set the scene for the launch of our sensational new short documentary film ‘One Day’.
This film captures moments during a typical day in the life of Melbourne Citymission: from Tony setting off bright and early at 6.45am, to pick up our Bridges program participants - adults with a disability who are learning new skills, to an intensive support worker from Frontyard youth services responding to a crisis at 7.55pm.
Every minute of every day, Melbourne Citymission is making a difference.

Also at the AGM, Andrew Carter, our Board Chair, and I shared our vision for Melbourne Citymission’s future, focusing on the directions of our Strategic Plan, which takes us up to 2015.
There is much to work towards and with the combined support from our community, government and corporate partners, and the generous donations received from our donors, we are in a strong position to continue making these all important changes in people’s lives.
The next big event is Detour — an exhibition of art that tells many stories. The launch is taking place on Tuesday 8th November at 6.00pm and the exhibition runs until 3rd December. We hope to see you there at Gallery 15, 15 William Street in Melbourne’s CBD.
Thank you to everyone who took part in our winter fundraising campaigns, from putting on your PJ’s, to sleeping out for the night, or giving up a luxury for a month - the response was fantastic. Our fundraising team is inspired to create even more fun and engaging opportunities to help you support Melbourne Citymission in the future.
