Our CEO Rev Ric Holland

Melbourne Citymission's CEO, Rev Ric Holland, has an extensive senior management record, from a dual career which has balanced management within the not-for-profit sector and executive roles within the media industry.

Before his appointment at Melbourne Citymission, Ric was CEO of Lort Smith Animal Hospital and before that was an Executive Director with Channel 7, responsible for Comic Relief, a national television fundraising show. Previously he was CEO of Parkinson’s Australia, where he set in place an unparalleled awareness and fundraising strategy involving Michael J Fox and Muhammad Ali’s daughter, Rasheda.

Former positions include Executive Director of Communication for the Uniting Church in Australia, CEO of Volunteering Scotland, Deputy CEO of the UK’s National Marriage Guidance Council, which he re-launched, changing the name to Relate, and CEO of a large Council of Social Service.

Ric also founded Social Action Broadcasting in the UK working with the BBC, 12 independent television networks and 52 Radio stations. Here he was responsible for producing thousands of broadcasting hours promoting community issues and encouraging nationwide involvement in addressing solutions.

Ric is an ordained Uniting Church Minister, with training and post graduate qualifications in theology, sociology, management and counselling. He was also President of the Animal Welfare League of Australia. He is married with three children.

Ric believes that being CEO of Melbourne Citymission is the best job he’s ever had, as does his dog Dave who sits faithfully in his office occasionally making ‘royal visits’ to one of our many offsite locations.
