FRMP brokerage can assist young people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness for therapeutic intervention, psychologist assessment, respite care and group intervention.

Eligibility criteria

  • Aged between 16–25 years (25 inclusive)
  • Are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness 
  • Have a case plan that includes goals in relation to family reconciliation or mediation, or recovery from family conflict and breakdown
  • Have consented to and are ready to engage in the specified intervention
  • Cannot obtain any other financial support for the identified intervention.

Individual Application Amount
Therapeutic Interventions – Funds to provide access to private
practitioners for therapeutic interventions such as family mediation,
family therapy, individual counselling, and arts/music therapy

provided by psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists, family therapists, family mediators, art/ music therapists and accredited
mental health social workers.
10 sessions per calendar year
Psychological Assessment  Funds to provide access to psychological evaluation about the young person’s particular needs prior to commencing any therapeutic intervention. In consultation with FRMP team
Respite Care – Funds to assist covering the living costs of a young person’s short term respite option (e.g. staying with extended family or other short term options). Up to $400 per application and up to two applications per calendar year
Group Work Participation – Funds for a young person to participate in a group program. Up to $500 per young person

Group Work  – funds to assist an agency to run an established group, or create a new group program or intervention. In consultation with FRMP team

To support the above applications, flexible brokerage funds are available to assist a young person with, for example, childcare, MYKI or engaging an interpreter.
