Melbourne Citymission works with some of Victoria's most disadvantaged communities- communities where poverty, unemployment, abuse and exclusion are entrenched and generational.
How we work
- We support individuals, families and groups to overcome personal barriers that prevent them from being involved in education, work and other aspects of the community.
- We empower the people we work with. In our experience, this is a crucial factor in overcoming disadvantage.
- Our responses to disadvantage are strategic, local and flexible. This means that we promptly adapt to developments on the ground and use our resources in the most effective and efficient way.
- We break down structural barriers that confront individuals, through our advocacy, research and social policy work.
