Sleep at the 'G 2017
Sleep at the ’G, Melbourne City Mission’s annual mass sleepover at the MCG, took place on Thursday 4 May and what a sensational night it was.
Over 1,000 people braved the cold, laid down their cardboard box and spent a night learning more about the issues facing young people with no place to call home in Victoria. As participants had the opportunity to hear first-hand from people who experienced homelessness and from youth workers who work directly with those effected, sleepers commented on how much of a rewarding experience they found the event to be.
Thank you from Melbourne City Mission to everyone who contributed in making this event such a success, in particular our corporate partners: Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), Melbourne Football Club, VicSuper, Herald Sun, Mitchell Dentsu, Dentons, Event Aid, Fort Knox Self Storage, Grand Cru, Frontier, Hobspot and Securecorp. This event would not be possible without their amazing support.
Whether you attended, donated, performed, dressed up or volunteered on the night, Melbourne City Mission would like to say a great big thank you! Nearly $500,000 was raised from this event thanks to you!
All money raised from this event will help Melbourne City Mission extend and improve our services so even more young people impacted by homelessness can find a safe, secure home and get the support they need to create a better future.
