Thank you beyond words – Sleep At The 'G

Sleep At The 'G – thank you! 20 May 2019

Sleep At The ’G, Melbourne City Mission’s annual mass sleepover at the MCG, took place on Thursday 16 May and what an incredible night it was.

Over 2,000 people braved the cold – record numbers for this event – laid down their cardboard box, and spent a night learning about the issues facing young people with no place to call home in Victoria.

Participants had the opportunity to attend a panel discussion exploring the complexities around youth homelessness, hear first-hand from young people Melbourne City Mission supports and youth workers who work directly with those effected.

The reminder of an evening in the cold was replaced with a warm fuzzy feeling the following morning of doing something amazing for Victoria's community.

Thank you

A big thank you to all of our event partners who made this year's Sleep At The 'G a huge success: Melbourne Cricket Club, Melbourne Football Club, DentsuX, Posterscope, The Storylab, The Big Issue, The Print Department and other supporting partners.

Whether you joined us on the night, made a donation, volunteered, or supported Sleep At The 'G in some other way, we thank you for your amazing efforts.

You're directly helping us to end youth homelessness, expand our crisis accommodation and other vital services to end the cycle of homelessness before it becomes entrenched.

All money raised from this year's Sleep At The ’G will help build, redevelop and furnish youth crisis accommodation centres across Melbourne so young people who have everything working against them can build a better future for themselves.

You can still donate and help us smash our target!

We're almost there.

The more money we raise, the more young people we can support through our range of services and locations – increasing our impact and moving ever closer to our goal to put youth homelessness to bed.
